five on friday | princeton family photographer

June 4th, 2010

1. How on earth is it June already? Seriously this year is flying by!

2. I thought I was going to get a reprieve to catch up on shows from this past spring but summer tv has already come upon us. Anthony and I have are slowly making our way from the beginning on Mad Men and The Wire (which is no longer on, but we still like it!). I’m hoping that by July when the latest Mad Men starts that we’ll be all caught! We’re excited about Last Comic Standing and Royal Pains! What are some of your favorite shows?

3. Anthony and I joined a CSA (Griggstown Quail Farm) and our first pick up was this week. We got some yummy greens including bok choy, turnip greens, and lots of different lettuces. We’re gonna do a real Southern dinner of fried chicken, creamed greens and more this weekend. (side note: I have to thank Holly for pointing us in the direction of Griggstown. We wanted to join a CSA but missed out on many of the places because we got in late. Thankfully they still had a spot and we are excited to support local agriculture!)

4. BOOKING UPDATE: I have two sessions open in June and a few in July. Book your family session today as these dates will fill up fast.

5. Next week Anthony and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. I’ve been doing some reminiscing on the photos and man do they have me all emotional. Check back next Friday for a post all about our wedding!

day in the life | princeton family photographer

May 22nd, 2010

Yesterday I woke up thinking how I wanted to document a day in my life – and I did it with my iphone. All photos are processed with the ShakeItPhoto app. I’m blessed that I was able to sleep in yesterday as it was my “Saturday” considering today I’m photographing the Seminary’s Commencement service. Can’t forget the generic Zyrtec that saves Anthony and I daily from allergies. Jammed out to the Glee Vol 3. Deluxe Version while running. Played a little Pac-Man on google (Pac-Man is celebrating 30 years). Edited some photos from a lecture. Took advantage of the sun beaming on our patio. Made a bomb-diggity chicken dinner. Used some fresh parsley from my patio garden on fresh corn. Only emptied the dishwasher once (oops!). Watched a few episodes of Mad Men Season 2 with Anthony. And lastly I got caught up on my Professional Photographers Magazine. I had 4 issues including January to read!

I challenge each and every one of you to do something like this. Truly document a day in your life. You won’t regret it when looking back to the mundane things you do daily. I also offer a package titled “day in the life” that documents your family’s day from sun up to sun down. Contact me for more details.

afternoon in philadelphia

May 20th, 2010

This past weekend, Anthony and I drove down to Philadelphia to see family that were in town. The sun was beaming down, the temperatures were perfect, and Independence Hall/Liberty Bell (aka touristy areas!) had the right number of people. We have vowed to explore the city more over the coming months as we’ll be in NJ almost all summer long. There is so much history and rich culture in Philadelphia that we want to soak it all in before we leave this area.

Uncle Frank, Amelia (the grandbaby!), and Aunt Debbie

I love that we found this little nook off Market Street. It’s not an unknown place as Ben Franklin use to go through that “road way” daily. But it was a new place to us. After all the student population left, it was actually quite peacefully.

Continuing to play with my macro lens on this beautiful round flower.

day at the farmer’s market | princeton family photographer

May 11th, 2010

I love the farmer’s market and even more so now that I have read Animal, Vegetable Miracle, Eating Animals and watching Food Inc. Anthony likes to joke that I am now his hippy wife. I’m alright with that if that means I can make a difference. The Trenton Farmer’s Market is now open 6 days a week and is next door to Halo Farm. Love local antibiotic-free/hormone free milk, eggs, and ice cream. On my recent trip, I was able to snag some parsley, basil and rosemary. Most of the stores were closed so I will be going back in the coming weeks to get more items. A few photos of the market!

lee family | princeton family photographer

May 10th, 2010

I had such a great time at this family session last week. The weather couldn’t have been better and look at these gorgeous people! Mr. J wasn’t a huge fan of the grass on his feet – a different texture that he wasn’t so sure about. Mike and Sonja enjoy your little sneak peek!

Absolutely LOVE his chubby cheeks!

misty’s baby shower | princeton event photographer

May 10th, 2010

Right after we moved to Princeton I had a gorgeous maternity session with this momma-to-be x2. It seriously is still one of my favorite maternity sessions – the light that evening was beautiful! Misty and Brian are about to welcome baby boy #2 this summer. I am so jealous that their entire family is going back to Oklahoma for the entire summer – how I dream to spend my summers back there!

All the yummy details – I so wish I would have won that rosemary plant. Looks much better than the one I snagged at the farmer’s market the other day. One of the hostesses, Kelly, made the famous Bakerella Cupcake Pops. She did a much better job than any attempt I’ve made. Mad props to you Kelly!

The three hostesses + Misty (Kelly, Amy, Misty, and Sarah)
