florida pre-wedding festivities

July 7th, 2010

Anthony and I arrived back in Princeton late Monday afternoon (after stopping at IKEA and Tony Luke’s in Philly) from Florida. Wow is it hot here! I was definitely not expecting to come back to 100 degree temperatures. We also came home to zero internet in our apartment. Unfortunately we are the mercy of the seminary as they provide it for us. They are about to start work on the new apartments and this work is necessary (so they say). They say that it can be up to 10 business days before we get it back. Please let’s hope it doesn’t take that long!!! Lots of photos in this post. Stop by tomorrow as I’ll have more photos from the wedding day and the day after.

Our first full day in Naples, we had dinner over at my aunt + uncle’s place. Uncle Pete was grilled, everything under control (as seen in the first photo!). Everyone abandons the grill for a few minutes, I look over to see the flames (as seen in the second photo while my father goes inside for who knows what!) The chicken that was on the grill was very crisp – gave a whole new meaning to charbroiled!

We attended the bridesmaid luncheon thrown by Allison’s aunt at the Sea Salt Restaurant. Here is my mom, aunt, cousin and other aunt.

On our way to the rehearsal dinner

The rehearsal dinner was at the beautiful Ridgway Bar & Grill in downtown Naples. Perfect setting to honor the beautiful couple.

My father is quite the ladies man. He loves taking photos with beautiful woman! Mother of the Bride Mary and my father!

And we add in Allison!

I handed my camera over to my 11 year old cousin and she snapped this photo. Not too shabby.

I love these next two photos of Allison listening to toasts. You are beautiful woman!

My aunt gave a very touching toast and I love this moment between her and her soon-to-be daughter in law.

Come back tomorrow – there will be lots more photos of the wedding day!

family portraits

July 3rd, 2010

My goal this year has been to get some decent photos of Anthony and I together. We will be getting some professional photos taken later this year, but I’m taking advantage of the people around to grab photos of us while down here in Florida. I’m really liking this photo after spending the day at the beach.

My beautiful parents before dinner Thursday night.

out of the office

June 28th, 2010

I will be out of the office from June 28th – July 5th. My internet time will be limited as I’ll be hanging out on the beach! When I get back I will respond to emails and phone calls. Come back to the blog though as I’ll hopefully have some fun photos of our adventures in Florida including my cousin’s wedding.

abby + scott | princeton couples photographer

June 24th, 2010

When was the last time professional photos have been taking of you and your significant other? For me (and for most!) it was our wedding day 5 years ago. I challenge each of my readers to find a photographer and get photos of you and your hubby/boyfriend/wife/girlfriend at this time in your life. Even those who have children – you should have special photos of the two of you sans kids.

For the month of July and August, if you book a couples session (session must be before October 1, 2010), you will receive two complimentary 3×3 mini accordion albums ($200 value) (view sample here) If you are interested in booking a session, email me for all the details.

Some photos of Abby + Scott from our adventures around downtown Princeton, who are celebrating two years of marriage this year.

Hello fierceness!!!

Two years of marriage has agreed very well with these two!

Can you two seriously be any more perfect?!?!?! Working the camera like a pro!

Last photo from our evening together on the longest day of the year! Love the sun peeking between the building and trees.

wild child yoga | princeton commercial photographer

June 17th, 2010

I spent Tuesday morning at Wild Child Yoga hanging out with some fabulous moms and dads who were practicing yoga with their babies. Wild Child Yoga recently opened in the Princeton Shopping Center off Harrison Street and is offering yoga to new moms, toddlers, children, and prenatal/postnatal women. Visit their website for details on classes, pricing,  and instructors. Justine and her entire staff are very knowledgeable about the practice of yoga and will guide you and your children along the way.

five years ago | princeton wedding photographer

June 11th, 2010

5 years ago at high noon Anthony and I got married at St. Mark the Evangelist in Norman, Oklahoma. It was definitely one of the happiest days of my life and looking back at these photos brings back a flood of memories and emotions. All the photos below are from digital cameras from friends and family – I cherish these more today than I ever thought I would.

Two of my favorite photos from the day with two of my favorite people – I still have them hanging in our bedroom to this day.

My brother Eric and I.

We had a reception right after the wedding in the church fellowship hall. THEN we had this awesome evening party at the University of Oklahoma’s football stadium. We were in the newly completed upper-deck and it was seriously the bomb! One of these days I’d love to have another party like that.

The following two photos (of Anthony + I dancing and Dad + I dancing) are still in our bedroom. They bring me endless joy.

My parents seriously know how to throw a party! No one was on the dance floor, so they got out there and boogied it right on down to YMCA. Now my dad wasn’t too coordinated and was throwing up all sorts of “letters” during the dance and I thought he’d have a heart attack out there, but it was a highlight of the entire day. People still talk about that dance. I also had to include a photo of my two brother-in-laws dancing. Man have they both changed since 2005!

Thanks for strolling down memory lane with me!
