This sweet little gal came into the world in a dramatic way, at home without much warning in the early hours. Big sister C is very much in love with her sister, doting on her, giving her lots of kisses, and being overall an incredible big sister! Little C was a champ during our session, giving off some great expressions and not doing too much damage to my blankets! Congratulations Heather, Steve, and C on your newest arrival!

At four days old, I believe Mr. Sullivan is my youngest newborn to date and he was a dream! It helped that the weather was warm (we were sweating like crazy!) + Shannon and Steve were some of the most relaxed new parents I’ve ever seen.

Someone was out hardcore with the mouth open and all!

My new favorite photo – Shannon + Steve did not find out the sex before Sullivan made his arrival into the world last Sunday so his nursery is a little incomplete. They decided to go with a fishing theme and I love that they had their canoe + kayak just waiting to get a photo with the little guy. This would be perfect blown up as art work for the nursery!

Lauren contacted me after everyone told her that she didn’t need to get photos of her precious Logan as a newborn or to wait until after his arrival. Thankfully we were able to squeeze it in, even at one month old. He was alert but super precious nonetheless! And take a lesson from her – book your newborn session before the baby arrives. You won’t regret it!

This is one gorgeous, totally-in-love family!

This was the first session I got to play with my new Canon 16-35L lens and this photo of everyone on the bed is one of my favorites!

You will see over and over again most photographers think newborns should be photographed within the first two weeks of life (myself included), but Miss Grace had no problems sleeping in the buff at 15 days new.

Nothing sweeter than a new momma’s love for her child…

or a daddy’s love for his little girl.

Hannah Teresa surprised mom + dad 2.5 weeks early. She is the light of her parents eyes and her arriving early means that mom can get on her bicycle to compete in one of the biggest races of the year in a few weeks. What a champ! Thanks Jess + Vinnie for letting me come snuggle with Hannah on her 10th day of life!

She is going to be a daddy’s girl all the way!

Jess took inspiration from the Zoe’s Kitchen in Phoenix, Arizona for the nursery. I about died when I walked in. Love the details, the colors, the patterns, everything. And for the record, Jess when you were describing Zoe’s to me I thought it sounded familiar. Sure enough, there is one in Nashville that we went to often. Just wasn’t sure if it was the same place!

One of the reasons for my visit to Oklahoma last week was to cuddle and photograph Anthony with his adorable parents Megan and Jay. My husband Anthony and Jay have known each other since junior year of high school, then roomed together practically all 4 years of college (give or take a few months). They both have a mad passion for college football and have spent many Saturdays attending and watching OU football together (now it’s mad texting throughout the games!). Not long after Megan and Jay found out they were expecting a little boy, Anthony got word that they were going to be naming their son after him. It’s a huge honor and I’m so glad I was able to get some photos of him at two weeks.

Congratulations M & J on a beautiful little guy!

Megan loves turtles and has now passed along her turtle collection to their son.

Can’t forget about the first child, Zeke.

Meet Owen at 10 days old! His parents are friends of ours and fellow seminarians (see photos from the baby shower here – as you can see I was pulling for a girl but I am so thrilled it’s a boy!). They are moving in a few short months while Lucas starts a PhD program in Missouri. I’m sure going to miss them and their sweet, cuddling, well-behaved and well-mannered son. Shannon + Lucas enjoy your little peek!

Owen loves having his hands by his face – so it was easy to “pose” him!

Watch out! Owen’s parents spent several years in Vancouver before moving to Princeton. We had to take a photo in his Canadian hat in honor of them winning the most gold medals at the 2010 Winter Olympics!

This blanket is pretty special because his momma made it for him! He repaid her by peeing on it. Such is life when you get a newborn who just feed naked on a blanket!

Ms. Elena Sophia is possibly the most even-tempered, sweetest, cuddlest baby I’ve ever been around. I’m pretty sure she gets that from her gorgeous, calm momma. There is nothing sweeter than holding a week old baby.

I attended Amy’s baby shower back in October and she received some of the cutest hats from AngelBeez. We tried to incorporate them into the photo shoot and here is one example.

Her beautiful nursery that has Spanish accents throughout.

Sweet Charlotte is going to be spoiled. She is the baby girl with two older brothers. I know exactly how she feels and she will definitely be princess of the household! Her brothers adore her as you can see by the photo of the three of them. Calen, I’m bummed that we didn’t get any individual photos of you. Next time!

I snapped a few shots of Matthew (2) while mom was nursing. For some reason he was all about the color black that day. He was going to a black birthday, black cars, etc. He loves cars and was explaining the sounds they make – adorable I tell ya!

At 5 1/2 weeks, Lucas was an angel for me. It could be that he was up all night and just plain worn out by the time I arrived, but no matter what, we got some awesome photos of this miracle baby (they used Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupuncture/herbs/diet changes) to overcome the infertility from PCOS and it worked!!). His beautiful momma is quite the crafty woman, knitting the hat and cocoon in the following photos. You can see some of her nursery items for sale in her etsy store.

While in Nashville this past week, I had the opportunity to photograph these beautiful twin boys. They are 5 weeks old and sweet as can be. They have a very proud older brother, Andrew, who loves (may be considered borderline obsessed) the movie Cars. Thank you Bridget for allowing me to come into your home to photograph the boys.

Doug and Danielle lived in the same dorm tower in college. Danielle, not being 18 yet, could not attend a party that their friends were attending. Doug sweetly stayed behind and the two of them hung out. From that moment, Danielle was smitten! The two of them have been all over this country, starting out in Oklahoma, moving to California and now live in Maryland. Arriving three weeks early, Samuel Kendan came into this world on his father’s birthday weighing 7lbs. Eleven days later, the jaundice is almost gone and he is perfect! Doug and Danielle have an incredible relationship and are loving parents. Samuel is a very content, chill baby. He allowed us to move and bend him in ways he never thought he would be in.
