For all the photogs out there, why yes that is Anthony sporting the shootsac for me! Looks great on him if I do say so myself!

We went to Morningside Heights to walk around Columbia University, Union Theological Seminary, and Riverside Church. These were places that we would probably not take out-of-towners, but places Anthony definitely wanted to see. It was his day so we did!

After visiting Morningside Heights, we stopped for dinner at a mexican place near Central Park. We then made our way through Central Park to get in line to see Comedy Central Park put on by the NYC Parks department and SummerStage. As we were walking, we saw a group of people, bright lights, etc. Not paying attention (my camera was in my hands) a man told me to not use my flash – okay! We discovered that they were filming Friends with Benefits with Justin Timberlake. That’s them filming and JT in the white shirt (on the right). I was amazed by the paparazzi that were out there with their massive gear. Must say that was my first experience with the paps!

And lastly the reason we went into NYC! Some “illegal” photos of John Oliver and Lewis Black from the Daily Show with Jon Stewart performing at Comedy Central Park. We weren’t suppose to take any photos during the performance but I snapped these quickly!

I know this is a tad dark of Anthony and I – that’s what happens when you put your camera on auto and pray it turns out. I like the photo anyways!

The nightly photo! Earlier that morning we hit an outlet mall and found this dress for $40. Felt it was perfect compliment to Anthony’s attire. And finally got a photo of the girls!

Our first full day in Naples, we had dinner over at my aunt + uncle’s place. Uncle Pete was grilled, everything under control (as seen in the first photo!). Everyone abandons the grill for a few minutes, I look over to see the flames (as seen in the second photo while my father goes inside for who knows what!) The chicken that was on the grill was very crisp – gave a whole new meaning to charbroiled!

We attended the bridesmaid luncheon thrown by Allison’s aunt at the Sea Salt Restaurant. Here is my mom, aunt, cousin and other aunt.

The rehearsal dinner was at the beautiful Ridgway Bar & Grill in downtown Naples. Perfect setting to honor the beautiful couple.

My father is quite the ladies man. He loves taking photos with beautiful woman! Mother of the Bride Mary and my father!

Two of my favorite photos from the day with two of my favorite people – I still have them hanging in our bedroom to this day.

We had a reception right after the wedding in the church fellowship hall. THEN we had this awesome evening party at the University of Oklahoma’s football stadium. We were in the newly completed upper-deck and it was seriously the bomb! One of these days I’d love to have another party like that.

The following two photos (of Anthony + I dancing and Dad + I dancing) are still in our bedroom. They bring me endless joy.

My parents seriously know how to throw a party! No one was on the dance floor, so they got out there and boogied it right on down to YMCA. Now my dad wasn’t too coordinated and was throwing up all sorts of “letters” during the dance and I thought he’d have a heart attack out there, but it was a highlight of the entire day. People still talk about that dance. I also had to include a photo of my two brother-in-laws dancing. Man have they both changed since 2005!

I love that we found this little nook off Market Street. It’s not an unknown place as Ben Franklin use to go through that “road way” daily. But it was a new place to us. After all the student population left, it was actually quite peacefully.

A little over 4 years ago, I jaunted into the Nashville West End Border’s and purchased The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. That day changed my life. I starting reading, and not just leisurely but avidly! Since that day I have read over 225 books (I know this because I have kept track on goodreads.com since 2006). I discovered the Nashville Public Library system REAL quick. There is no way on our measly income to purchase all those books, and I didn’t want to own all of them. There are a few select that I will buy or request on PaperBack Swap.

Reading is empowering – I have learned about Afghanistan through the eyes of a child, the Chinese custom of footbinding, the outrageous life of bounty hunter in Trenton, Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal, memories of a boy solider in Sierre Leone, life as a young girl during Biblical times, the leprosy colonies on Honolulu island in the 1890s, the struggles to get schools specifically for girls in Pakistan, the events leading up to the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, in-depth look at how our food, specifically meat, is produced in our country and many many more! My hope to the readers of this blog is that you have books that you look back fondly of and have learned something from them.

Here is a small sampling of four books I read this past winter. These are four that have stood out to me and that I would recommend to any of my readers (okay maybe not E-Myth Revisted unless you have plans or are already in business).
