family | holidays in oklahoma

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

I am home from Imaging USA. I had a blast meeting other photographers as well as learning from some of the best in the industry. I didn’t take too many photos with my camera, but if you follow me on twitter you probably saw plenty of photos throughout the conference. I have many more I will try to share when I get them off my iphone.

I’ve been playing catch up since we arrived back in NJ from the holidays so here is my last post from our time in Oklahoma. Once again it includes photos of my nephews. The last two photos of the boys with Sassy melt my heart. They are the light of my mom’s world and I love that I have photos of them together.

I bought the hat on Rylan from etsy seller vanillaknitsandbits. Such a wonderful and talented knitter.

rylan | oklahoma family time

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

I felt Rylan deserves his own post because he really is that precious and special. He will be turning 1 in January and cute as ever. He loves to smile, even if he couldn’t breathe and wasn’t feeling well. Just a few days before these photos were taken, he went into the hospital due to low oxygen levels, trouble breathing, and more. The diagnosis was croup and he got out of there within 2 days.

Randon & Rylan are the only grandchildren right now. Both of them have my father wrapped around their fingers. It always amazes me to see him interacting with them and it makes me yearn to see how our future children will impact my mother and father (or Sassy and Grandpa). [Don't take that the wrong way people! Children are still in the far far far future for us!]

randon’s birthday | oklahoma family time

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Our nephew Randon turned 3 on December 18th. We celebrated a few days later with homemade cupcakes, hot dogs, mac and cheese, and presents! Happy Birthday Randon!

Randon helped Sassy make cupcakes – you can see the joy in his face of his accomplishments. And the pursed lips is something he got from his father!

This is Mark’s little clone – they have the same face facial expressions and everything!

Randon, 3 years and Rylan, 11 months (and walking!)

beatles rock band | oklahoma family time

Monday, December 28th, 2009

We spent several evenings while at my parents house playing Beatles Rock Band. We even got my up-tight father to sing a song while Anthony drummed out on the drums and Eric rocked out on the guitar.

I snapped a few photos of Eric’s boxer, Conner too! Isn’t he precious?!?! He and I are new BBFs.

cooking spaghetti | oklahoma family time

Monday, December 28th, 2009

When Anthony’s family came up to New Jersey to visit in July, he and his grandmother got to talking about how amazing their spaghetti was and they want to cook it sometime. The two of them finally got their wish and cooked some amazing spaghetti. Here are a few snapshots of them.

snow | oklahoma family time

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

Anthony and I arrived in Oklahoma right before the big snow storm hit the northeast. I heard Princeton received upwards of 14 inches. I’m thankfully we got out early enough. We have spent the past week and a half visiting with family and getting between 10-12 inches of snow & sleet ourselves on Christmas Eve. A white Christmas in theory seems like a good idea until all church services are canceled and you cannot leave your home. We spent a nice relaxing Christmas Eve and day at my parents home with my mom, dad, and one brother Eric. We braved the conditions on Christmas Day to go see Up in the Air with George Clooney. It was nice to get out, even for a few short hours. We were able to drive down to celebrate Christmas with Anthony’s family a day late.

Here are a few photos of the snow – by the time I took this photo a few inches had probably melted. I have lots more photos to share over the next few days, including a birthday party for my nephew, Anthony cooking dinner with his grandmother and carving a turkey, a trip to Oklahoma City, Beatles Rock Band, and much more!

I hope all my readers, clients, and friends had a wonderful, safe, and joyful Christmas!
