The minute I walked into this family’s home, I could feel the excitement and apprehension about getting photos taken. Soft soulful music was playing throughout the house while everyone was putting the finishes touches on their outfits. The minute I saw the girls’ outfits I was tickled. They were full of color (hello bright pink, blue, brown, mutlicolored tights!) and ready to put on their modeling faces. I love capturing each child individually before doing family shots as this allows them to get to know me and relax a bit in front of the camera. These four had no problems with the camera at all.

All of them had such stories to tell with their eyes, but especially Damali (2nd photo). This was her fierce, supermodel look and I love it.

I love that Dafina & Dinari have the same smile, with the teeth clinched together. What five year old does not do that?

I love sibling shots that are fun and different. Thank you guys for being willing participants on a day when you wanted to get to soccer practice!

I love seeing my clients grow and this gorgeous family is no different. Looking back at their family session last September blows me away. The girls are SO young (and they weren’t too mobile at the time either!). Anna and Margaret have changed even since June when we did their two year session. Anthony & I are on our way back to the great state of Oklahoma today. We are both ready to see family, as its been since Christmas. Looks like its going to be HOT in the 90s the entire time.

I am currently in Nashville for the weekend visiting friends and taking these sweet girls 2 year pictures. You’ve seen them on this blog a few times since I started my business here, One Year Session, and here. We got up early this morning and headed to the Nashville Zoo. There’s an older part with a home, barn, garden and more. It was the perfect location to allow two very active 2 year olds to run around. I convinced my mom to make a few pettiskirts for this session specifically and the girls had a good time in them. I made a detour to Hobby Lobby yesterday and found parasols that were perfect. The girls loved them!

twin boys | nashville, tennessee

While in Nashville this past week, I had the opportunity to photograph these beautiful twin boys. They are 5 weeks old and sweet as can be. They have a very proud older brother, Andrew, who loves (may be considered borderline obsessed) the movie Cars. Thank you Bridget for allowing me to come into your home to photograph the boys.

Family Mini Session – Nashville, TN

Katie and her family were more than gracious to let me stay with them while I was in Nashville. Thankfully I had a little time and we did a little holiday family mini session last night (look at the difference a few months make -one year birthday). The mosquitoes almost ate us alive, but everyone were troopers and survived! Katie & Joey – thank you very much for opening your home to me. I love seeing you both and the girls.

I love the look on Anna’s face in this one. You’ve got to wonder what she is thinking.

Kasey & Keely Seniors – Small Town Oklahoma

Kasey & Keely are about to start their senior year in my husband’s small home town. They are fun siblings and were up for just about anything I asked including sitting in a field (I check for snakes and other creatures before Keely sat down!) and jumping. We even found some “urban” in this one stop sign town Thank you both for being great subjects!

Anna & Margaret – One Year Nashville, TN

These girls wake up early so I got there around 7:30 in the morning. It was a perfect morning, in the 60s. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. We went over to the Catholic church right down the street to get these. These girls turn one next week, so they got dressed in their best to celebrate. Katie, here is your sneak peek!

This one makes me chuckle because they didn’t really want to be by each other during the entire session. We went back to their home and its almost like the door is dividing them.
