Another round of Five on Friday.

1. This past week I’ve been ultra busy with PTS’ alumni/ae reunion week. I’ve been photographing most of the events which have been taking up most of my evenings. I am ready to reclaim them! I think tonight is going to be date night!

2. As you may have seen in this blog post, I am partnering up with Lawrence OB/GYN. Very soon you will be seeing, oh, between 25-30 of my images HUGE on their walls. We are talking 20×30 or larger. It will be very surreal to see my stuff that large. I will definitely be taking photos once we get them up.

3. If you haven’t noticed, I recently added a “Support Local Businesses” page under Information. If you know of a local company that I should include, please send me an email and I will add them.

4. Do you need organizational help? Are you constantly making lists and not sure where they are? There is this awesome program Evernote that will help you out. I’ve been using it for a month now and I can’t get over how awesome it is. There are many different forms, online, applications for the desktop, iphone, etc. I use all three and it rocks my socks off. I have different “notebooks” (photography business, PTS photography, Anthony, personal, recipes, etc.) set up to keep myself just a little more organized. You can browse, search, link to URLs, etc. Here is a screen shot of the desktop application w/one of the many recipes I’ve added. This will help me when we travel or when I’m at the grocery store and I can’t recall every ingredient. Definitely check it out and let me know how you like it.

5. Last Sunday I photographed a fun family that won a session from the St. Paul Catholic School Shamrock Auction back in March. There are three beautiful young ladies and I am so excited to share their photos with you. Be on the lookout within the next day or so for their own blog post. I would have gotten it up sooner but being away all week has been a challenge!

1. It’s definitely fall in New Jersey. I was fighting it for a long time, but now I’ve come to embrace it. Even though its October, the ice cream truck drives by daily between 4-5pm – weird. The leaves are finally starting to change. Here are a few photos I took on PTS’s campus.

2. Trader Joe’s opened up on Route 1 in Princeton a few weeks ago. I didn’t understand the love people had for TJ’s until it opened up. I’ve been too many times (its bad that its in walking distance) but I discovered something amazing this week. TJ’s Cornbread. I have never had cornbread this amazing before in my life. I’ve been dreaming of it and thinking about when the next time I can make it will be.

3. After I got home from work Wednesday, I was sitting at our dining room table checking my email. I looked up to see a praying mantas on our screen door (at the time the back door was open and he was on the inside of the screen – aka could have come into our apartment). There was also a bee inside. I wasn’t sure how I was going to get the bee out (because I didn’t really want to kill it). I proceeded to close the door almost all the way, hoping the bee would try to get out. Not but a few minutes later did I look up to see the mantas CAUGHT the bee and was eating it. He finished it in less than 20 minutes. GROSS! I had to take some photos!

4. Next Friday Anthony and I are flying down to Dallas for the annual Red River Shootout between Oklahoma and Texas. We are meeting up with my parents and are going to have a blast. We met down there our sophomore year in college 7 years ago (it was actually this weekend, but we call OU/TX weekend our anniversary no matter when it is!)

5. Tonight we are hosting game night at our house! I am beyond excited to drink and play Guesstures with fellow “childless” seminarian couples.

Have a wonderful weekend!

1. This post comes in the midst of our packing and moving. We have lived in NJ for almost a year and its now time to switch things up a bit and move apartments! We are actually going into seminary housing closer to campus. I hate having to leave the place we have now because there is a nice workout facility and pool. Trading that for the community at CRW though.

2. There are tons of corn fields around us. The other night we were driving and saw the entire fields covered in lighting bugs/fireflies/whatever you call them. It was one of the neatest things either one of us had ever seen. I really want to get out there and take a picture. Sure enough the tripod is already packed.

3. I have a mild obsession with Rob Thomas. It started right after he released his first solo album, Something to Be in 2005. I just got his new album, Cradlesong, this week and I’m more in love! I recently started following him on twitter and he seems very down to earth.

4. I received several orders from my lab this week. I must say that I LOVE when a client orders an image large (we are talking 20×24!). There is nothing like seeing your work displayed in such a way. They have a gorgeous home and that image will fit right in with their decor. If you are wavering on what size to get, my philosophy is the bigger the better. You really won’t regret it!

5. Next week my in-law family is coming into town for 5 days. We have plans to visit NYC (seeing Lion King on Broadway), Philadelphia, the seminary campus, Princeton, and possibly the shore. We are both excited to share our new area with them.

And a fireworks picture from last Thursday. It was really cool that the fireworks were right were the moon was shining. Pretty cool.

1. Wednesday night Anthony and I hosted the church history PhD students and their spouses to dinner. Anthony has been in this program for a year, and I was finally meeting 2 of the couples. There were 9 of us all together; the most people we’ve ever entertained for. We had maple BBQ brisket, roasted veggies, corn on the cob, ceasar salad, rolls, homemade chocolate chip cookies. Man it was a feast!

2. I really don’t like the rain. Last Thursday it started raining here and just has not stopped; until today! The sun is out and I don’t think rain is even in the forecast.

3. Every month I get together with a group of seminary spouses for dinner and book club. It dawned on me just yesterday that I hadn’t started reading the book and we are getting together this Tuesday. I stopped reading It Sucked and Then I Cried by Heather Armstrong and got to reading The Princess Bride (as in the movie!) by William Goldman. I’m about halfway done and am enjoying it.

4. My confession is I’ve only see The Princess Bride the movie once and I don’t remember much about it. I know that its a favorite among many people. I really didn’t watch much TV or movies growing up (just something my family never did) so I guess I lead a sheltered pop culture life.

5. I am beyond excited for this announcement. June 13-19th Anthony and I will be in OKLAHOMA. I am booking sessions now! Please email me for details.

Another edition of Five on Friday.

1. I got a sweet deal on airline tickets for Nashville. I’m coming back June 5-7, 2009. If you are needing a session, please contact me to reserve a time. If you are wanting to earn FREE stuff, get your friends to book sessions. You could get a complimentary session.

2. Anthony gave his first official lecture this past Wednesday to some of his classmates. One step closer to being that professor.

3. I got hired on to do photography at Princeton Theological Seminary. I have been working in the same office since September so it was only natural to make the switch. It will be exciting to see my photos in print/on their site. Be on the lookout.

4. Several weeks ago, I started to scrapbook again. I want to say it had been close to 3 years since I last did it. So needless to say I’m WAY behind. I have always done the scrapbooks by school year, which now that I’m out of school I don’t think its working out so well. I finished the 2004-2005 year (the year we graduated, got married and moved to Nashville) and the 2005-2006 year (first year in Nashville). I just sent another 100 photos to the lab for the 2006-2007 year. My goal is to be completely caught up by this summer. Think I can do it?

5. Growing up in Oklahoma and living in Tennessee the past three years, I know what heat is. I can handle it – when its in the summer. This past weekend it was HOT here in New Jersey. Who would have thought – mid 90′s in April in NJ! I am very glad we live where we do because we have AC. Seminary housing can’t turn the AC on until May 1st (state law) and lots of people were complaining. I can’t even imagine (and I can’t sleep with the windows open due to allergies). I just thought we got away from that unbearable heat but I thought wrong.

And what’s a photography blog without a photo. This is a beautiful tree outside the building I work at PTS.

There are photographers out there that do Five on Friday and I thought I’d give it a try this week.

1. I have the most amazing husband ever. He definitely listens! Sunday is my birthday. I had told him how much I wanted cupcakes for my birthday. Today, while my mother and I were out shopping, he went to the Bent Spoon in Palmer Square and got half a dozen cupcakes. I was totally surprised when I came home. He also got me Lightroom 2 – I’ve been dying to have this program for months now.

2. My mom flew in yesterday for my birthday. It has become an annual tradition for her to come visit during my birthday. The first year we got married, she and Anthony schemed and surprised me! I was completely shocked.

3. Spring is here in Princeton. I just hope it stays! The past few days have been closer to 60s or higher. Tomorrow is suppose to be gorgeous! Perfect weather for NYC!!!!

4. We’re going into NYC to sight-see (we’re going back down to the Brooklyn Bridge area to take a few pictures for a lecture Anthony is giving in less than 2 weeks), shop in SoHo and see Mary Poppins on Broadway.

5. Last week was spring break for the area schools. That meant I was going to be working overtime at one of my jobs. Watching the B girls is always fun but Ms. Isabelle was antsy on Thursday. We decided to make homemade cupcakes. It was fun being around an 8 year old and the thought process when it come to decorating. Can you tell which ones I decorated and which ones Belle did? :D

One last photo of their dog Oxford. He’s an Airedale Terrier and very expressive.
