It is slowly becoming an annual tradition to get photos of the three brothers together at Christmas. Though I only shared one last year, I thought it fitting to include a few more this year. We did a bit of hiking on one of their grandmother’s properties to reach the abandoned blue car. Scarastically speaking, it worked very well for a photo of these three preps! Poor Anthony, he is the oldest and shortest of the bunch.

Finally getting around to showing photos of my session with Randon, Rylan, and my brother Mark. We loaded up the car and headed to Kid Space (a park that I actually helped build in high school). The sun was shining and the weather was in the high 60s – perfect day to capture these ornery, spunky boys.

I love little boys in skinny jeans!

This photo cracks me up because Rylan is expressive all the time, Randon truly wasn’t hurting him at all. Just looks like it!

I did a little work while in Oklahoma for one of my bridesmaids and good friend Allison and her family. This year her older brother and sister-in-law welcomed Maggie to the family and what better way to honor that than a holiday family portrait!! The weather was warm, though a tad windy (but when is it not windy in Oklahoma?!?!?!), and everyone was dressed to perfection! I loved the brown and red accents. I didn’t know what they were actually wearing and I came dressed in my new red peacoat, I could have fit right into the family!!

Henry is 3.5 years old and was awesome at having his photo taken! At least nothing a bribery of a mini M&M or two couldn’t change!

Maggie really is the perfect addition to their already adorable family!

Uncle Andrew and Aunt Allison are stellar and shower their niece and nephew with so much love! This photo makes me chuckle because Maggie thinks we are all crazy and Henry thinks we are funny!

As I sit here finally listening to Christmas music this holiday season and finishing packing up this awesome family’s order, I remembered I hadn’t had a chance to blog it yet! Janel and Nate are neighbors of ours (we even have an Oklahoma connection) and they haven’t had a family photo taken since their oldest was a toddler. It was beyond time! I went over to help Janel put together their outfits – and they had everything in their closets already!! Love when that happens. The perfect amount color and complimentary colors without everyone matching!

We were blessed with a gorgeous fall-like Saturday morning right after Thanksgiving. And look at those two kiddos – they held that position for longer than I have seen two siblings hug! This was the perfect session and family to end the crazy busy holiday season!

They sure thought I was funny – or maybe it was just Isaac loved to laugh/scream!

I love the opportunity to spend a quiet Sunday morning with a family at their home! JD and Ryan had me smitten the minute I walked in the door, with trucks and cars in hand. We went out in search of a deer (no luck finding it again!), picked up many sticks, had a few races and then headed back in to read a few stories. Handsome little guys they are!

Carrie is a southern girl with the cutest accent, sweetest personality, and incredibly perfect family. I love someone who isn’t afraid to ask for help and when it came to their outfits she wanted some advice. We picked out the little guy’s sweater and built from there, adding the punch of magenta to spice it up. After several reschedules, everything lined up perfectly last weekend for a trip to Princeton University’s campus. One thing we did not take into consideration when we met around 4 is the hordes of people coming back from the last football game of the season. I can’t tell you if they won or lost, but I can say we say an abundance of orange (which is not a color I like being a University of Oklahoma alum!!!). Luckily we found some great spaces that not too many people were and let the kiddos run around.

Money!!!! Everyone is looking and super adorable to boot!

Happy November ya’ll!! Starting the month off right with this adorable family! Luckily we moved the session to Friday afternoon as the snow hit us last Saturday. All the freak storms we’ve had this year is making for quite an eventful 2011. I think I’m ready for 2012 to not be so wild!!

This one took some time to warm up to me (the one on the right that is!) and I love that although he doesn’t have a huge smile on his face, you can tell in his eyes that it’s about to happen! By the end of the session, he wouldn’t stop giggling!

What a refreshing warm-up this weekend after the cooler weather at the start of the week – anyone else take full advantage? Shooting outdoors in the fall has become my all-time favorite! Couple that with a smiley, happy-go-lucky toddler and you get perfection!

For those wondering, I did not touch Tyler’s eyes at all! They really are that blue, and mom played it up with the sweater combo too!

I promise to come back and share a few more photos from this session – it was one of my favs!

It was a cool, overcast morning and the planets seemed to not be in alignment but after a quick car ride from one location to another, a stop to get hot chocolate in Starbucks, we finally got smiles, laughs, and a few kisses too from everyone!

This sweet little gal came into the world in a dramatic way, at home without much warning in the early hours. Big sister C is very much in love with her sister, doting on her, giving her lots of kisses, and being overall an incredible big sister! Hannah, mom + dad have graced this blog a few times already (here and here). I was thrilled when Jess emailed me telling me it had already been 6 months. Where does the time go?!?! Hannah is a fairly serious baby (as you can see in the family photo outside!), she would just stare at us like we were crazy but luckily we got the entire range of emotions!

I promise I did nothing to this photo – she really has those beautiful, telling blue eyes!

san antonio family session

Although I didn’t mention in Kelly’s post how I know her, it’s actually through an online photography forum. It’s the same board that I know all the girls from WPPI last year. Bri is also another photographer on the board who lives in San Antonio. She and her family haven’t had family photos taken since before her daughter Lily was born 18 months ago! That is WAY too long!! I’m so glad the weather cooperated with us on the morning I flew out as we walked around downtown San Antonio for these photos. Thanks Bri and Jared!!

This one makes me chuckle because he was looking hard for Curious George in my camera!

This was officially my last session of 2010 being as it happened on New Year’s Eve Day! I don’t like waiting this long to post but after coming down with something from our nephews + pink eye, I spent much of last week taking it very easy!

There is something very endearing to me when a child contacts me saying their mom really wants professional portraits of the kids together. Typically it’s a holiday or birthday present and I’m so honored when it’s me they chose. Raj, Ricky, and Pooja were brave enough to walk into the snow and laugh heartily for me! It was very chilly and especially for California-living Raj who came in very breathable shoes! Thanks guys for being a little silly and having fun!

One morning after Christmas I spent time with the R family in my hometown. What I love most about the holidays is the fact that everyone typically comes together and I love when I get to capture that for other families! Thankfully the weather in Oklahoma was nothing like the blizzard that hit NJ and the eastern seaboard and we were able to get outside for some jumping photos (have to get off some of that energy!!) Thanks Kathy and the entire R family for letting me come over!

Lauren contacted me after everyone told her that she didn’t need to get photos of her precious Logan as a newborn or to wait until after his arrival. Thankfully we were able to squeeze it in, even at one month old. He was alert but super precious nonetheless! And take a lesson from her – book your newborn session before the baby arrives. You won’t regret it!

This is one gorgeous, totally-in-love family!

This was the first session I got to play with my new Canon 16-35L lens and this photo of everyone on the bed is one of my favorites!

If you’ve been following my blog since close to the beginning you may recognize this beautiful family. It was almost 2 years to the date that we had our first session together and I’m truly honored that they chose to come back. The girls are as sweet as ever and even more photogenic than the first go round. Thanks Danika and Nate for being understanding when the craziness gets to me!

Darby has the most beautiful brown eyes I think I’ve ever seen and her smile is infectious!

I cannot believe how big Sloan – last time it was hard to get her to stand still much less sit and smile! Love this photo of Mom and Darby!

The nor’easter that blew through last weekend almost had us rescheduling but luckily Sunday was a much calmer, blistery morning.

I always recommend women wear something that will make them feel beautiful (we all know that a wardrobe can either make or break how you feel!). And these sisters did just that. I love the colors on their sweaters and the scarves. Simple yet making a statement!

This shot melts my heart – love seeing a grandma proud of her grandchild.

I love a good pouty lip and Mr. Mason had it down pat!

Abbie is celebrating a birthday very soon (the big numero uno!). During the session I found out that she loves cheerios (what child doesn’t, right!?!?!), books, is mesmerized by bubbles, has four front teeth, doesn’t mind sitting in a chair or on the ground, adores her mommy and daddy, and if she knows something is on her head she’ll pull it off! Happy early birthday Abbie!

This chair was an estate sale find ($8!!!) that I sanded and spray painted. I knew the minute I got it I wanted to use it for this session in an open field. I’m so glad that Abbie didn’t mind sitting either!
